In this small village of 400 inhabitants, we can enjoy the beautiful landscapes offered by the four seasons: swim in the natural waters of the Jevero River, coming from the La Cervigona waterfall; walk or cycle along paths that allow us to breathe fresh air and feel the scents of nature, enjoying, for example in May, the explosion of colors brought by spring. In winter, it rarely snows, but one can see the snowy mountain peaks in the distance.
We are located at the foot of the sacred Jálama mountain, from where the ancient goddess Salamati (goddess of water) watches over us. The tranquility offered by a property with olive trees, orange trees, and fruit trees, accompanied by the sound of the river, allows for relaxation. In autumn, the colors shift to warm tones, like the color of the oil produced on the finca, and we enjoy a mild climate, neither cold nor hot.
Historically, Acebo and nearby villages have been inhabited by various civilizations: first by ancient populations worshipping the god of matter, followed by Celts from the north, then Romans, then Arabs, and later the last Templiers’ strongholds (e.g., in Valencia de Alcántara) and the foundation of the first Franciscan monastery in Spain with the arrival of Saint Francis of Assisi. The region preserves castles, Celtic ruins, ancient churches, convents, and monasteries, as well as forests of oaks, chestnuts, and arbutus trees, with a green, fertile, and water-rich landscape. All of this allows, in addition to the work done with Caty Marí, to enjoy walks or excursions and discover places whose energy, beauty, or history make them unforgettable.
